Losing a tooth affects more than your smile — chewing, speech, and even the shape of your face change over time. The two main solutions are dentures and dental implants, and choosing between them is easier when you understand how differently they work.
The case for implants
- Most natural look and feel — an implant functions like a real tooth.
- Prevents bone loss by stimulating the jawbone the way a natural root does.
- Longest-lasting option — designed to last for decades with good hygiene.
- Protects neighboring teeth — no need to alter adjacent healthy teeth.

The case for dentures
- Budget-friendly — partial dentures start at ₱14,500, versus ₱100,000+ for a single implant.
- Quick restoration — made and fitted within about a week or two.
- Non-surgical — ideal for patients who prefer a simpler, removable option or aren't candidates for surgery.
How an implant actually happens
After a consultation and X-ray, the implant is placed and left to fuse with your jawbone for 3–6 months (a process called osseointegration). A connector called an abutment is then attached, followed by a custom crown matched to your natural teeth.
The honest answer
There's no universally "better" option — there's the better option for your mouth. Bone density, gum health, how many teeth are missing, and budget all matter. A good clinic will walk you through both paths with real numbers before you commit to anything.
