How to Use Your HMO for Dental Care (Maxicare, Cocolife, PhilCare & More)

Many HMO members don't realize their card includes dental benefits — often an annual cleaning, consultations, and some restorative work. Here's how to actually use it.

Which cards we accept

Modern Smiles is accredited with Maxicare, Cocolife, PhilCare, Filipino Doctors, and Health Partners. If your provider isn't listed, ask us — accreditations expand over time.

How HMO booking works

1. Fill out the booking form and choose your HMO provider — accurate details avoid delays.
2. Card verification. Our team verifies your card with your provider.
3. Send supporting details. We may ask for a clear photo of your card (front and back) and one valid government ID.
4. Confirmation. Verification takes 1–5 days depending on your HMO. We'll tell you exactly what's covered, then lock in your schedule.
5. Visit the clinic with your card and ID.

Why the 1–5 day wait?

Verification timing is set by your HMO provider, not the clinic. We can't confirm an appointment until we know what your card covers — it protects you from surprise bills.

What if a treatment isn't covered?

You'll know before anything starts. Many patients combine HMO coverage for basics with out-of-pocket or installment payment for bigger treatments — and our Smile Savers membership (₱2,000/year) covers exams, cleanings, and small fillings with 10% off other treatments.
